活动（复数名词，非正式）

(plural noun, INFORMAL) Activities. (NOTE: always plural)

EXAMPLE: When my brother travels abroad he always sends me long email descriptions of his various goings-on.

当我的兄弟在国外旅行时，他总是给我写很长的邮件，描述他的各种活动。

失败的开端（非正式）

(INFORMAL) A wrong beginning; a temporary failure in starting to do something.

EXAMPLE: I had to write a speech last night, and after several false starts, I finally found exactly the right words to express what I wanted to say.

我昨晚必须要写一篇演讲稿，开头写了好几回都没写好，最终，我找到了恰当的词语来表达我想说的内容。
