Meego
Announced last year, the Linux-based Meego was the product of two failed mobile operating systems from Nokia and Intel intended to power netbooks, tablets and operating systems. Then, Nokia pivoted and partnered up with Microsoft and its Windows Phone 7 platform. "That was, in hindsight, perhaps the wrong partner to have picked," Intel CEO Paul Otellini told investors back in May. The final nail in the coffin came with the announcement of Tizen, another Linux-based operating system led by Intel and Samsung.
